Turning Americans into Confident & Proactive Financial Decision Makers

The NAPFA Consumer Education Foundation (NCEF) believes that consumers should be empowered to make the right financial decisions and to take charge of their financial futures.

Our mission is to educate consumers about basic financial matters and to help them identify financial services that are in their best interest.  NCEF’s goal is to enable consumers across the country to become confident and proactive about the full range of financial issues they face.

So many of life’s biggest decisions hinge on financial choices such as our education, careers, homes, major purchases, and retirement. Even our health can be intertwined with our finances. Too many of us feel unnecessary anxiety and stress in these instances because we are not sufficiently knowledgeable about the financial landscape, and our particular best interest.  NCEF is focusing on helping consumers with these decisions with its Managing Life’s Financial Journey Project.

We are in uncharted economic waters. We don’t know what the future holds—but we suspect that it will bring new surprises. We know that Americans are more concerned about their economic futures than ever before, and they are searching for help.  The NCEF and thousands of Fee-Only, fiduciary financial advisors across the country are doing their part to ensure consumers have access to objective information and advice from trustworthy sources that have no hidden agenda.  Our goal is to empower individuals with the tools necessary to make better financial decisions and to restore hope for a better future.

The NCEF is developing programs and initiatives to address personal finance issues, including savings and debt, in an effort to foster hope in American families.  Without hope, they will never be empowered to take control of their financial lives.

Access to information and advice will help restore hope and empower consumers to take control of their financial lives.  Americans have lost control of their finances and feel powerless to change the direction of their lives.  To take charge, one must know that change is possible and have access to the tools and information to make sensible decisions.  The thousands of consumers across the country who have been impacted by the NCEF have been empowered to make changes that should help them realize their American Dream.
