NCEF BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The NCEF Board of Trustees drives our mission of promoting consumer financial education through pro-bono financial advice. Trustees serve a two-year term. The Board typically meets monthly by phone to discuss the direction of the Foundation and determine priorities. Trustees also serve on a committee of their choice.

Michael Joyce, CFA®, CFP®

Agili

Michael is founder and President of JoycePayne Partners. As such, he is responsible for overall investment strategy, management of investment portfolios and financial counseling services. Michael received a B.S. degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Drexel University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Michael is former chair of the NAPFA National Board of Directors, current and past president of the NCEF, and former vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority. He is the treasurer of the Benedictine Education Foundation, serves on the Board of Advisors for the VCU School of Business, and has been on the NCEF Board since 2005.

Danielle Seurkamp, MS, MPAS®, FBS®, CFP®®

Well Spent Wealth Planning

Danielle is the Principal and Founder of Well Spent Wealth Planning in Cincinnati, Ohio. She advises and supports individuals and families at all stages of life. Her passion is to help people achieve and enjoy financial success by making the best use of their financial and non-financial resources. She has a Master’s Degree in Financial Planning and maintains three professional certifications as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, a Master Planner Advanced Studies®, and a Certified Financial Behavioral Specialist®.

Danielle is a Director on the NAPFA Board of Directors. She has volunteered for NAPFA/Kiplinger Maximize Your Money Days and founded a financial wellness program for Cincinnati’s Center for Respite Care to help people reestablish financial security and transition out of homelessness.

Jamie Milne, CFP®

Milne Financial Planning

Jaime started Milne Financial Planning and became a NAPFA member in 1996 after working as a MassMutual agent and in banking. As a “happy and solo” practitioner, Jamie has three offices in Vermont: South Burlington, Barre and St. Johnsbury. Jamie is currently Secretary/Treasurer of the NCEF. He also served on the NAPFA National Board of Directors from 2002-2005, and as chair of the NAPFA National Board of Directors in 2004. In addition to his services with NAPFA and the NCEF, Jamie serves as treasurer of the Thaddeus Stevens School in Lyndonville, Vermont, as well as secretary of the St. Johnsbury Rotary Club.

Amy Irvine, CFP®

Rooted Planning Group

Amy Irvine, CFP® is the Founder/Owner of Rooted Planning Group. Amy has had varied experiences in her financial career and successfully transitioned to opening her own firm, the Rooted Planning Group in 2016. She currently serves as a Director on the NAPFA Board of Directors. the Finance Committee for Fund for Women of the Southern Tier, the Endowment Committee for ART's Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, and the Corning-Painted Post Historical Society and has previously served on the board for Faith-in-Action Steuben County, the and on the Human Ecology Committee for Cornell Cooperative Extension. Amy has volunteered as a pro-bono advisor under NCEF's Building Homes for Heroes partnership.

Amy remains dedicated to having more diversity in the profession empowered through education as evidenced by her involvement with the NAPFA Education Committee and previous tenure with the XYPN Diversity Committee. She believes Leadership isn't about one action or one person, but “how a group of individuals can collaborate to grow.”

Dr. Kristy Archuleta®

University of Georgia

Dr. Kristy Archuleta is an Associate Professor in one of the nation’s premier financial planning programs at the University of Georgia and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to joining the faculty at UGA in August 2018, she was an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Personal Financial Planning program at Kansas State University. Her research and teaching interests relate to financial therapy, couples and money, and effective mechanisms to improve financial and overall well-being. She is a co-founding board member and Past-President of the Financial Therapy Association, current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Financial Therapy, and has co-edited two books: Financial Planning and Scales and Financial Therapy: Theory, Theory, Research, and Practice. Dr. Archuleta also serves as a Director and the Consumer Representative on the NAPFA Board of Directors

Brenda - 175Brenda Knox, CFP®
Financial Elements, Inc.

Brenda has been a fee-only financial advisor for more than 23 years, and has helped hundreds of clients plan their financial lives. Her passion is developing long-term relationships with her clients and tailoring her services to their individual needs. Brenda has been both an NCEF donor and volunteer with Building Homes for Heroes where she provided financial planning for veterans. Brenda is also very active as a volunteer in her community.
Jeff Dvorak, CFP®, CPWA®
4D Financial Advisors, LLC

Jeff is the founder of 4D Financial Advisors, LLC and has been an active NAPFA member since 2012. He previously served on NAPFA's Midwest Board of Directors and joined the NCEF Board of Trustees in 2019. Jeff received a B.S. degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and has been a fee-only financial planner for over 12 years.
Margery Schiller, CFP®®
M K Schiller Consulting

Marge Schiller has been a NAPFA member since 1991. She has conducted business as a fee-only financial advisor at M K Schiller Consulting for 30+ years. She also spent 27 years as Financial Planning Manager for Goar, Endriss and Walker, a local CPA firm, retiring from there in 2017. She began her career in adult consumer education and taught college in this field as well. She has authored several textbooks and consumer education guides for CT and VT students.
